Bhajan Chanting in Cardiff
Mantra and South Indian Bhajans
Join us for the joy of Chanting together
Chanting is a beautiful practice that leaves you feeling uplifted, happy and connected. The chanting we do at Om Studio uses the Bhajans (devotional songs) that are chanted regularly at Ananda Ashram. Chanting these bhajans connects us to the home of Gitananda Yoga in India, and reminds us of the authentic nature of the Yoga taught at Om Studio.
Chanting has always been an important aspect of the spiritual life in India. Here at Om Studio we regularly meet to chant or sing Bhajans. This is uplifting devotional singing sung in a traditional South Indian way. There are many beautiful Bhajans and our repetoire here at Om Studio is quite extensive.
All of the bhajans have been learnt over the years from many trips to Ananda Ashram, ICYER, Pondicherry, South India. Bhajans are devotional songs traditionally sung in Sanskrit, the ancient language of India and the Vedas. They create a beautiful feeling of harmony and joy and the practise of Yoga is incomplete without them! Our Bhajana evenings are open to anyone who wants to come and it doesn’t matter how well you sing as it is all about taking part and enjoying yourself.
After singing we will have food together so please bring a vegan offering of your choice. For many people this is the best bit – lots of amazing food and people to get to know!
We have a donation system in place so you can contribute what you feel for the class and all of the collected money collected will go to the Gitananda Yoga Ashram in Pondicherry, India.
Hope to see you there!
