YOGA RETREATS

Our yoga retreats in both the UK and in India create time for you to learn about and experience yoga.

Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and embark on a transformative journey at one of Om Studio’s Herefordshire Yoga Retreats. Nestled in the heart of nature, surrounded by rolling hills, lush greenery, and the soothing sounds of birdsong, our retreat offers a haven for those seeking serenity and rejuvenation.

Our carefully curated retreats are designed to provide a respite from the demands of modern living, allowing you to delve into the ancient practice of yoga in a serene and idyllic setting. Whether you already have yoga experience or you are a beginner, our experienced instructors will guide you through invigorating and grounding yoga sessions, helping you find balance and harmony within. The cosy and comfortable accommodations, thoughtfully crafted vegan meals (we do accommodate vegetarians too), and a sense of community fostered among like-minded individuals create an environment conducive to relaxation and self-discovery.

Outside of the classes you have time to explore the picturesque surroundings with nature walks, sitting under a tree on the meditation chairs in the garden , or simply lounging around on cushions and embracing the peaceful ambiance.

Our retreats are more than just a getaway; they are an opportunity to disconnect, recharge, and return to your daily life with a renewed sense of well-being.

Hereford Retreat:

We run these retreats  at Maitreya House in Herefordshire. This is a Buddhist retreat centre in a very beautiful rural setting. Maitreya house is an extended renovated cottage with a few wooden cabins in the grounds. These are very cute. They are warm in the winter and cool in the summer and their doors open straight onto a little veranda which leads straight onto the garden. We use a lovely Zendo next door for our yoga classes which looks out onto a beautiful garden with mountains as a back drop. You are very much out in nature here; lots of birdsong and sheep is far more common to hear than cars. The centre is half-way between Hereford and Abergavenny and easy to get to by car. If you don’t drive or would like to car share please let me know as lifts are always available.

Accommodation

The accommodation is mostly shared but if you need a single room let us know and we will do our best to arrange this for you, depending on numbers there may be a single supplement of £50 for this. Most of the rooms are for two people and a couple of them are for three. We always choose carefully who we put with and this would either be with someone you know or we will put you with someone that we think you will get on really well with. Lots of friendships are formed on these retreats.

Ethos

Our retreats and Maitreya House have a strong ethos of Karma Yoga which is where we all help out not only for the benefit of the group but also for the buildings and the spaces that we occupy. You will on occasion be in the kitchen helping to prepare food or perhaps helping clear up afterwards. If you see anything that needs doing please do it. This helps us all and you will find that a real sense of community is created. The food will be mostly vegan but there may be some milk products for vegetarians. If you have any dietary requirements e.g. no dairy or gluten free then please tell us in advance of the retreat. We will have wonderfully fresh nourishing food for the whole retreat – prepare to be fed well!

A typical day

A whole day on the retreat will comprise of early morning yoga followed by breakfast. We would then have a pranayama and relaxation class followed by lunch. There is a break after lunch giving you time to go on a long walk and then we would have supper before an evening session. If you have anything specific in mind you would want to cover on the retreat please let us know – we are always open to requests.

Cost for the weekend: £325
